OEDIPAL DISOBEDIENCE is a personal work focusing on the construction of our own true identity, the genesis and the loneliness of our lives.
Inspired by his personal story and referring to the myth of Oedipus and the Oedipus complex in psychoanalysis, Gabriel intents to reflect the duality of his own life materialising in his work the questions, the challenges, the doubts and the unknown he faced along his childhood till now.
Beyond the construction of his own resilience and the particularities of his life, Gabriel's audience is invited to rethink the establishment of the filiation, the inherited and constructed identity, the perceived image of our-self and beyond all the secrets and the lies from the backstage of our lives...

This combination of letters are meant to remind anonymous poison-pen letter writers. It also materialise a "tool box" of letters to write my own story, beyond the anonymity at the genesis of his life...
This artwork challenge the definition of destiny. In this work, Gabriel capture the ineffable feeling about his birth, our loneliness facing the writing of our destiny: "Make it by yourself, get it sorted out!" .
